A classic but moderate walk with an opportunity to take in the picturesque Cotswolds
villages. The walk starts at the beautiful remote village of Snowshill, with its
manor house that dates from the 16th century. We journey on quiet country roads winding
their way to the start of Lidcombe woods, with its path weaving down the tranquil
valley pass adjacent to the Stanway estate. It’s then on past the historic Jacobean
manor house of Stanway and it’s gardens, famous for it’s unique 300 feet high fountain!
Upon entering the house’s estate you’ll witness its fine oak trees in all their splendour.
Our journey then takes us through the beautiful village of Stanton, a shining star
amongst all the Cotswolds villages. Last but not least is the very steep climb to
the top of the Cotswold escarpment via Shenbarrow hill on our return to Snowshill
