The walk starts at the side of Leckhampton hill at an old disused quarry which is now a sheltered car park, with a little scramble to the top we then stroll along the Cotswold escarpment with some of the best panoramic views that Gloucestershire has to offer, we take a moment to look at the unusual pillar of rock that sticks out from the escarpment which is known as the devils chimney, formed by erosion from seas millions of years ago. It’s then we head west on country paths through rich farmland with their old stone walls, also carefully crossing a  road to Coberley, a little village once the home of Dick Whittington. We embark upon a slightly less strenuous climb returning on generous tracks back to the escarpment whilst indulging in yet more spectacular views of the rolling countryside.
